24. The Joker References

It's something of a shame that we don't get more hints that Batman has been haunted by the death of Robin, but his costume was of course included in the opening bat cave sequence (as spoiled needlessly by the trailers, but whatever). And there was also a reference to Batman having previous dealing with freaks running around dressed as clowns in Gotham. Again, it was entirely ridiculous that it was included in the trailer, as it robbed the audience of a disposable moment of fan-baiting, which might have distracted from some of the poorer decisions. The Joker would have been a great option for a post-credits scene (even if it was just yet another dream sequence featuring him taunting Batman and laughing at him), but we'll all have to wait for Suicide Squad for that.
