The film is full of "as themselves" cameos thanks to the "real world" discussions of Superman's role in society. Neil DeGrasse Tyson appears to discuss the existence of aliens, talk show host Charlie Rose makes an appearance on TV, and Nancy Grace, Erika R. Erickson, Anderson Cooper and Brooke Baldwin all appear as themselves. Meanwhile, long-time Batman fan and professional franchise cameo-giver Senator Patrick Leahy also appears as Senator Purrington. He's previously appeared in Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, as well as voicing a character in Batman: The Animated Series.
