A lot of people love Tim Burton's Batman, but I'm not a fan. The Caped Crusader should never just indiscriminately kill, and while Batman Begins saw the Caped Crusader leave Ra's al Ghul to die, there's a big difference between that and actually taking a life by gunning some goons down while driving the Batmobile around the streets of Gotham. Superman breaking General Zod's neck in Man of Steel was controversial with some fans (though how else they expected him to stop Zod from obliterating that family with his heat vision is hard to say), so just how poorly is everyone going to react to Batman being a killer? Well, it seems like that might just be part of his character in Batman v Superman as during the battle with those mysterious soldiers wearing Superman's logo on their arms, it appears as if Batman breaks the neck of one of the men attacking him. It could be that if he's in a kill or be killed situation and the Dark Knight simply doesn't have much of a choice, but it's still out of character. Then again, seeing as the trailer showed that Batman brands the criminals he catches, it could be that the version of the hero we meet next year has become as jaded, hardened, and brutal as his comic book counterpart in The Dark Knight Returns. Hopefully this isn't what it looks like anyway or Snyder can look forward to facing a whole new wave of backlash...
