2. Doomsday Is (Probably) Coming

For a long time now, there have been rumours about who the main physical threat of Batman v Superman is going to be. Batman and Superman are obviously going to fight while Lex Luthor pulls the strings from the shadows, but don't go expecting him to don his iconic green and purple power suit just yet. Forget theories about Metallo factoring into the movie too as all the signs currently point to Doomsday being the big bad. Reports last year indicated that Lex's experiments with Krytponite and the body of General Zod would lead to some sort of transformation of the villain's remains, and seeing as all of that featured in the trailer, it now seems like a safe bet to assume that we are indeed going to see the creature who killed Superman factor into this movie. Don't go getting your hopes up for some sort of adaptation of Death of Superman however, as it seems Doomsday's role in this movie will be to do little more than give the Trinity - Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman - something to fight before they all decide to become pals and form the Justice League. While you have to imagine that Doomsday is a villain who could have carried a future Superman movie of his own as the villain, his presence here works, especially as Batman v Superman is essentially a Man of Steel sequel anyway! It's going to be interesting to see whether the next trailer for the movie decides to turn the spotlight away from the two titular hero fighting and showcase Doomsday. Either way, expect him to (probably) factor into this movie in some way, shape, or form.
