1. Batman & Superman Realise That They're Stronger United; An Early Version Of The Justice League Is Formed
With Doomsday banished from Earth, Batman and Superman confront Luthor, but he explains to them that using his extreme wealth and influence - not to mention the best lawyers in the world - he would easily escape prosecution for his actions and that their attempts to contain him would have very little impact. Though angry, they realise they have no choice but to leave him be, but both heroes vow to keep watch over Luthor, should he ever attempt anything similar. Batman apologies to Superman for his previous attempts to contain him; Superman forgives the Dark Knight, citing Batman's intentions to keep the world safe as noble. The pair realise that they can co-exist and agree to be friends. Superman makes a public announcement that frees him of his label as an "American weapon" and eases international tensions as a result. He rebrands himself as a protector of Earth and is once again reunited with his love, Lois Lane. A few months goes by and Earth remains peaceful for a while. Batman sends a request to Superman inviting him to Wayne Manor, where - underground - he unveils plans for an early version of the Justice League in the company of Wonder Woman, Aquaman and a few others. Superman agrees that forming an elite group of superheroes is the way forward. Meanwhile, in outer-space, Doomsday - still alive - hitches a ride on a asteroid. Its trajectory? Planet Earth.
