Batman V Superman - Ultimate Edition: 11 Ways It Improves The Original
4. Swearing, Nudity & More Violence
Though the Ultimate Edition is rated-R, the more adult additions are fairly few and far between.
We briefly glimpse Bruce Wayne's bare butt while he's taking a shower in the first act and there's a single F-bomb dropped by Wallace Keefe when Lex Luthor shows up at his apartment, as Wallace asks him, "What the f*** do you want?"
Then there's violence, which is by far the most significant of all the R-rated additions. First up, there's more blood in the Nairomi sequence, then the Knightmare scene features more brutal executions of Batman's foot soldiers, the warehouse fight adds a little blood (namely when one of Luthor's men is hit by a crate Batman flings into the air), some broken bones, more punching, and Batman going back to continue assaulting the guy he stabbed to the wall. Also, there's more lingering injury detail when Superman gets stabbed through the chest by Doomsday's spine.
The violence in particular does improve the original action, the bone-crunching sound effects, greater focus on injury and addition of blood making this a good deal more brutal.
