Batman V Superman - Ultimate Edition: 11 Ways It Improves The Original
3. The Senate Bombing Is More Logical & Compelling
One of the most shocking and significant additions is how the build-up to the senate explosion is fundamentally different. It's made more clear before the explosion that Lex has manipulated the world against Superman, with Kahina revealing to Senator Finch that she lied about Superman, and Lois realising after a meeting with Secretary Swanwick that Lex is planning something at the hearing.
Kahina is then shown being thrown in front of a train by Knyazev after confessing to Finch before the bomb goes off. In the aftermath, Lois investigates Wallace Keefe's apartment and finds that he had a fridge stocked with food, meaning he probably didn't know he was going to die.
Jenet then informs Lois about the lead-lined wheelchair preventing Superman from seeing the bomb, making it clear that this was all part of Lex's master plan, which is much more detailed and interesting than what we got in the theatrical cut.
