Batman Vs Superman: 10 Last-Minute Hopes Fans Are Clinging To

Please be good, please be good....

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is just around the corner (it'll reach British and American cinemas on 25th March 2016), and the target audience for the movie is starting to get a little jittery. The claims originating at Hitfix that "the response has not been exactly what Warner Bros wanted" from early screenings of Zack Snyder's superhero smackdown has a lot of fans worried that the movie - despite all the talent and cash thrown at it - will be a big disappointment.

There's even a rumour out there that Snyder will be sacked from The Justice League two-part film as a result.

This Hitfix report varies hugely from Den Of Geek's claims from a few months back, which stated that the first showing of the film had earned a "standing ovation" from Warner executives and encouraged the studio to consider green-lighting three solo Batman movies for Ben Affleck. With conflicting accounts like these doing the rounds, fans don't know whether to be excited or terrified about the movie. Here are ten hopes that they're all clinging to...

10. There€™s Another Surprise Villain Besides Doomsday

When the big grey creature that looks a lot like Doomsday €“ a near-indestructible alien from the comics who once killed Superman €“ showed up in the promotional materials for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, there was a sense among the fan community that we€™d had a big plot point spoiled for us before the movie had even reached cinemas. So, in this universe, it looks like Lex Luthor experiments on Zod€™s corpse to create Doomsday. This giant threat will show up at some point in the movie, presumably prompting Batman and Superman (and Wonder Woman, who seems to turn up at exactly the same time) to team up and take the monstrous beast down. Fans are hoping that there€™s a little more to the movie than this, and that the advertising hasn€™t laid out the entire story. Is it too much to hope that there€™s another villainous threat in Batman V Superman that audiences don€™t know about yet? Perhaps, but that hasn€™t stopped fans from wishing that Batman V Superman hasn€™t pulled a Terminator: Genisys and given away the whole film in the trailers. Perhaps Darkseid or a similarly huge baddie is secretly supporting Lex€™s experiments, allowing the film to pack some serious surprises. Time will tell.
