Batman Vs. Superman Movie: 10 Potential Reasons They Could Fight
2. Superman Accidentally Killed Robin
Admittedly, this one is a bit of a stretch in terms of tone. We can honestly say that i've never read or heard a story where Superman accidentally killed anyone. Hell, there are barely any stories where he intentionally kills someone. But once again, Man Of Steel did end with the wholesale destruction of Metropolis which had to have caused some deaths. Metropolis at mid-day had to have had some students in either grade school or college, giving us a time frame where young Dick Grayson could've been caught up in the chaos. Once word gets back to Bruce, he declares a vendetta against Superman. Writers love killing Robin, probably because he often represents what makes his crusade worthwhile. In "Batman: R.I.P.", Bruce regards Robin as a grounding influence who helped him become a hero and not a vigilante. Without him, he'd be slave to his violent impulses. The turmoil Bruce would go through would be a great foil to Superman, who ends Man of Steel as both an intentional and unintentional killer. No matter what code he has about killing, Superman's actions would have to cause some death whether he wants to or not. He could be viewed to be as villaionous as Zod himself. With this amount of moral ambiguity, the two heroes could have their darkest "team-up" yet.
