Batman Vs. Superman Movie: 10 Potential Reasons They Could Fight

5. Batman Is Jealous

If one were to ask the superhero layman what is the chief difference between Batman and Superman, one would probably say "Superman has powers and Batman doesn't". While Bruce made due with what he had, it's hard to imagine him looking at Clark without a bit of resentment. It doesn't help that many stories that allow Bruce to gain superpowers show him as becoming drunk with power quickly. In Batman:Venom, Bruce get addicted to Bane's super strength drug and becomes overly violent. In Batman: Red Rain, Batman becomes a vampire - long story - and actually kills the Joker! Despite what fanboys might say, Batman would probably love having superpowers and might fight Superman for it if given the chance. Who knows what kind of technology Wayne Industries could salvage from the kryptonians? Possibly even a trace of the kryptonian genetic matrix? For those of you saying "Bruce Wayne is better than that!", we'd like to point out that Bruce's jealousy doesn't have to be due to greed, but survivor's guilt. Bruce became a superhero because he was powerless to stop the death of his parents. Imagine how things could have been different if he had Superman's powers as a child? Imagine how many he could save as an adult? Not only would that be a great reason for him to resent Superman, it would also connect the two since Clark was in a similar position as a teenager when his father died. Ironically, Clark wasn't able to save his father BECAUSE he had powers and his father didn't want him to reveal himself. In a way, Clark and Bruce's childhoods weren't too divergent from each other.
