Batman Vs Superman: 7 Iconic Villain Roles That Prove Irons Is Miscast As Alfred

4. Profion (Dungeons & Dragons)

From one of the high points of Irons' career to the low, Dungeons & Dragons sees the veteran English actor play Profion - an evil wizard who is intent on obtaining the Rod of Saville, a sceptre that can control Red Dragons which he can use to overthrow the Empress. As stories go it's pretty poor, and as a representation of the hallowed history of Dungeons of Dragons one can argue it is even worse. It may seem strange to put Irons' performance in here, but truth be told, like Raul Julia in Street Fighter, he makes a relatively good fist out what is a very, very bad situation. His hammy villainy adds some watchability to a movie that is frankly terrible from almost start to finish. He seems to be somewhat enjoying the fact that whatever happens to the movie his career will move on, which is more than can be said about a lot of the people who starred in this awful film. Many of the were up and coming actors that now are doomed to be nowhere to be seen. Furthermore, it shows that he can do scenery chewing as well as the next British villain (a la Gary Oldman), something he'd have to reign in as Alfred.
