And finally, perhaps the fans' number one choice, should Ben Affleck pull out of the film. Ryan Gosling apparently turned the role down, due to his concern over sequels, but should he change his mind, he'd no doubt be excellent in the role. He's only 33, and though producers reportedly want an older Batman, he'd be mercurial and chilling, as simmering as Cavill, and hugely different to the multi-faceted Bale version of the character. As seen in Drive, he's fantastically believable as a moonlighting hero, and in Only God Forgives, he's as entrancing as the character of Batman would demand; he has an understated darkness to many of his characters, and he'd be what many see as the perfect anti-hero of this franchise. Who would you like to see in the role though? Do you hope that Ben Affleck walks away from the film? Do you think he'll make a good Batman after all? Comment below!
