3. Richard Armitage
Age: 41 Another Brit as Batman? Richard Armitage has been around doing terrific work for years in things like Strike Back, North and South, MI:5, as well as playing Guy of Gisborne on Robin Hood, but hes seemingly just come into the public focus after playing Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Since it can be argued that Thorin was one of the better aspects of that film, and that his best moments are coming in the next two Hobbit installments, its likely that we can expect more positive exposure for Armitage in the future. As Batman, I think hed certainly bring the brooding, but hes also got the necessary humanity for the role and the right kind of energy to help him come-off as a kind of flip-side of the coin for Cavills Superman. In fact, its Armitage that seems most likely to embody Batmans moral code of justice. Considering the note that MOS ended on, with an exasperated Superman snapping Zods neck, its not unlikely that the next film might turn the tables, using Bruce as the method by which Kal El learns that rigid sense of justice and unwavering discernment.
