In comparison with the animated film, there are some lyrics missing from the mob song in the 2017 remake of the battle scene, whereby an angry crowd of villagers, led by Gaston, march towards the castle to kill the beast.

The omitted section features in the extended version of the scene, straight after Gaston consults the beast’s magic mirror to help him determine the castle’s location.

Upon their discovery, the furious mob then trudges through the woods with their burning torches and pitchforks whilst chanting the lines: “We don’t like what we don’t understand. In fact, it scares us. And this monster is mysterious at least. Bring your guns, bring your knives. Take your children and your wives. We’ll save our village and our lives. We’ll kill the beast.”

However, in the deleted scene, immediately after those words, Gaston’s troop are shown overwhelming the castle’s defences as part of their protest, smashing through the preliminary ice gates, which are symbolic of the jagged jaws of a beast.
