Beauty And The Beast Remake: 8 Deleted Scenes You Need To See

7. Gaston Shoots For Belle’s Heart

LeFou Beauty And The Beast
Disney

Belle wanders through her little town (it's a quiet village), repeatedly rebuffing the attention of boorish Gaston, the resident “hunk” who will stop at nothing to win her favour.

In one of his unseen attempts, Gaston steps forward to become the hero that Belle has never asked for, immediately after the townspeople toss her soaking wet laundry all over the floor.

The muscle-bound, simple-minded antagonist arrives on the scene, blasting his gun to force the crowd to make way, before expressing his disgust over their seemingly bad behaviour.

Pleased with himself after settling the disturbance, a triumphant Gaston turns to his submissive sidekick, LeFou, and arrogantly declares: “I’m not sure what’s going on here, but I’m pretty sure I just fixed it.”

This scenes leads directly into the one where he arrives outside Belle’s home, seeking her hand in marriage, so that he can have what he believes he deserves: the best wife in town.
