Beauty And The Best Remake: 6 Iconic Elements They Left Out

4. The Steampunk Ax Tank

Kevin Kline’s Maurice isn’t as grand of an inventor as his animated counterpart. The intricate clock he builds is a fine piece craftsmanship, but it’s a straight-up duck turd when compared to the terrifying might of cartoon Maurice’s steam-powered lumber-slayer.

This ax-faced mechanical Frankenstein is a lawsuit waiting to happen, and every inch of it is as awesome as it is dangerous. It runs on steam, which means it has a raging fire inside of it attached to a pressurized system ready to spew magma-hot water should a screw come loose. Which is a likely outcome, given how much this big bastard rattles while it's annihilating everything in its path.

Maurice basically invented the 1800’s version of that half-tank, half-dinosaur you see at monster truck shows, and it's truly a shame that this new movie had the gall to write it out. Beware, movie. Steampunk Ax Tank will have its revenge.
