Beauty And The Best Remake: 6 Iconic Elements They Left Out
3. Murder Kitchen
Speaking of terrifying things that have both sharp and hot components, where was the stove during the Living Housewares vs. Angry Villagers battle? In the original, LeFou and a couple of townspeople chase the Ottoman Dog (this sentence is already exhausting) into the kitchen, and quickly realize they have basically stepped into hell.
The drawers burst open, out of which a variety of kitchen knives and one lobster fork stand at attention, like arrows notched in a bow, ready to be loosed. And just to make sure that they never sleep free of nightmares again, the stove makes his burners flare and lets out a deep, sinister cackle while brandishing a meat cleaver.
We see the stove earlier in the movie, so it's a shame they didn't follow through with it. When you’ve got a gun hanging on the wall in Act 1, someone has to fire it in Act 3. When you have a living stove in Act 1, it has to terrify angry villagers in Act 3.
