1. Battleship Potemkin
As if to prove that Beauty And The Beast is definitely for film fans, there's also one of the highest brow Easter Eggs in all of Disney's history.
During the battle scenes within the castle, an overhead shot that shows the action mostly in silhouette briefly and gloriously captures the sight of an infant's pram rolling down the huge staircase. That of course references Sergei Eisenstein's 1925 silent film, Battleship Potemkin, whose now infamous battlescene has lent its most iconic shot (from the Odessa Steps) to a number of film including The Untouchables and Naked Gun 33 1/3.
