Whenever a classic property is remade, there's always understandable concern from fans that the new version might pervert or unsavorily alter what they know and love.

Rest assured that's not the case here, for the spine of the story remains largely the same, while the majority of the changes made actually tighten up the story and make it feel a little more contemporary.

For one, having the Prince be cursed as an adult makes much more sense than as a child, and it's actually explained how the town forgot about the existence of the Beast's castle.

On the music side, there are some lyrical changes, but they won't be a bother to all but the most precious fans, and as mentioned, the new songs mostly slot nicely into the soundtrack.
