Being one of the more recent entries on this list, Thomas Newman is using a refined skill set from a lengthy career, however he is creating a score that, in nearly every way, has the clear classic Newman sound. As far as a soundtrack goes, this is an album about innovation and revision. It has a modern sound accented by judicious use of various post-processing effects, and more electric instruments than most previous endeavors. Ultimately this soundtrack lends itself very well to the cerebral thriller and provides good listening material on its own.
