Evil Dead Rise's climax is absolutely bonkers even for the series' standards, when Beth (Lily Sullivan) and her niece Kassie (Nell Fisher) find themselves facing off against The Marauder - a grotesque fusion of their three Deadite relatives, Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland), Danny (Morgan Davies), and Bridget (Gabrielle Echols).

In the end Beth uses a trusty chainsaw to force the Marauder into a wood chipper, causing its bloody remnants to be showered out the other end.

But Ellie's severed head remains on the edge of the wood chipper to taunt Ellie, before she finishes her off by kicking her noggin into the machinery.

During the lead up to the film's release, director Lee Cronin revealed that the production used an astonishing 6,500 liters of fake blood, and on the basis of this scene alone it's easy to see why.

Evil Dead films are basically duty-bound to go extremely hard at the end, and to say Cronin did that here is quite the understatement.
