1. Aunt Gladys - Weapons
And could there possibly be anything else?
Weapons' witchy villain Aunt Gladys (Amy Madigan) is arguably the single most brilliantly detestable horror antagonist of the decade so far, and Zach Cregger sure as hell served up a fittingly brutal end for her.
Gladys, whose supernatural abilities have been responsible for the disappearance of seventeen children in the town of Maybrook, has the tables gloriously turned on her in the film's climax, when her "nephew" Alex (Cary Christopher) uses a strand of her own hair to cast an enchantment against her.
This prompts all of the children under her control to suddenly turn against her, chasing her down with an animalistic ferocity all while she desperately flees through the neighbourhood in absolute terror.
Ultimately they tackle Gladys to the ground and rip her apart on a lawn in front of the entire neighbourhood, in turn freeing them all of her control. What a fittingly absurd, embarrassing death for one of recent horror's most terrifying villains.
