5. Naru - Prey

Prey was nothing if not a massive breath of fresh air for the Predator franchise, with both its 18th century setting and the series' first full-on female protagonist, Naru (Amber Midthunder).

Naru is a classic underdog Final Girl, being so predictably underestimated by basically every man in her vicinity, leaving her to spend the movie proving just how much of a resourceful hunter she truly is by taking down a freakin' alien.

Naru isn't only the smartest hero in the Predator franchise, using her sheer cunning to turn the creature's own high-tech weaponry against itself, but she manages to survive while lacking the contemporary firepower her successors were blessed with.

Naru did what nobody else around her could, in turn protecting her homestead and confirming herself to be one hell of a badass huntress. 

Midthunder is outstanding in the role, enough that many fans hope we might get to see Naru again one day.
