20 Awesome Horror Movies NOBODY Talks About
3. Pathology
A critical and box office flop upon release in 2008, Pathology just might be one of the most maddeningly unsung horrors of the last 20 years.
A crime-horror film penned by Crank filmmakers Neveldine/Taylor, Pathology stars Milo Ventimiglia as a medical student who is pulled into a secret group of sickos who play a most twisted game - trying to commit the perfect murder whose cause the other students cannot detect.
Now to be totally fair, this an offputtingly nasty little movie in many ways - it's incredibly of-its-time with its hyperactive style and almost comically egregious sexual and gruesome imagery.
But in our more chaste modern filmmaking era, there's something to be said for a film so ferociously unrestrained, especially when chained to such a deliciously effed-up premise.
It's a film that categorically goes hard in every fiber of its being, and the central performances - especially an unhinged turn from the ever-underappreciated Michael Weston - are terrific.
