Zach Cregger's Resident Evil is basically a travelogue of bats**t crazy moments, the peak of which surely sees the endlessly put-upon Bryan (Austin Abrams) end up in Raccoon City General Hospital's incredibly cursed maternity ward.

It's immediately clear that the entire ward has been overrun with the zombie infection, with red pustules and tentacles lining the walls, before Bryan comes face to face with a mutated newborn baby, elongated limbs and all.

Bryan's soon enough chased out of the area by a fleet of infected staff members, and though things certainly get worse for him from that point on, this is the most viscerally unsettling sequence in the entire movie.

Filmmaker Cregger said that he came up with infected babies because he wanted to give Capcom a new type of enemy they could include in a future Resident Evil game. To say he succeeded in spades is quite the understatement.
