Best/Worst Case For 15 Summer Movies (With Predictions)

John Wick isn't Keanu Reeves' most career defining role, but it may be his best. It was one of the pleasant surprises of 2014 and its sequel in 2017 showed audiences it was far from a fluke. With an increased budget and stiffer box-office competition, there is increased pressure on John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum. However, we should've all learned to never count out the Baba Yaga.

Best Case: This franchise knows what it is and what it does well. John Wick 3 will be one of the most satisfying film experiences of the summer and doubles the box office of John Wick 2, as its predecessor doubled the box office of the original.

Worst Case: Chapters one and two released in October and January of their respective years. Lions Gate releasing the film in May shows increased confidence, but maybe it proves foolish. The success of the first two films was due to the timing of their release and John Wick 3 becomes buried under the weight of larger franchises.

Prediction: John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum will be more of the same, which will make it the best R-rated release of the summer and will continue the franchise's box-office gains.
