An X-Men TV series has been rumoured for a while (everyone wants a piece of that sweet Arrow/Flash action), but has been halted by those irritatingly complex character rights - although Fox owns the rights to the merry band of mutants (and, unfortunately, Fantastic Four), they need some approval from Marvel before going ahead. Well, it looks like a deal has been struck - Fox have ordered not one, but two X-Men series; a Legion pilot (written by Noah Hawley) and a Hellfire series. It's not clear whether these will slot into the wider movie universe (Legion is the son of Professor X and the Hellfire Club already appeared in First Class, so some big explanations are going to be needed), but it'd be a smart move - look at how the MCU connection added to Daredevil (or the disappointment of how Stephen Amell won't be in the DC Extended Universe). Fox sound rather excited about this development, keen to push the talent involved in Legion (Hawley is the mastermind behind Fargo) and the general complexity afforded by Hellfire. Both sound interesting for sure, although it does quell exciting rumours of an X-Force show (hopefully because it'll wind up being a movie, but still). Excited for these shows?
