Poor Jared Leto can't catch a break, eh? As well as his Joker being forgotten about in Birds of Prey, one cast and crew interview saw the Oscar-winner completely overlooked in favour of the late, great Heath Ledger who brought the Crown Prince of Crime to life in 2008's The Dark Knight.

After being asked whether there's a version of the Joker who Harley could actually have a healthy relationship with, everyone agreed it wouldn't happen but director Cathy Yan pointed to Ledger's version being the best possible option in an interview with Jake's Takes. "It was such an intelligent take on the character that I feel like, and Margot's Harley is so so smart behind all the crazy, that I would be very curious, like, the battle of wits on that one," she explained.

Margot Robbie - who said on two separate occasions in this interview that it's not healthy for Harley to be romantically involved with any Joker in any capacity - was also on board with the idea saying that such a crossover "would've been truly, truly, truly incredible."

It doesn't seem like anyone involved with Birds of Prey has a particularly high opinion of Leto's Joker, either because of the way he behaved on the set of Suicide Squad or the fact his version of the character was emotionally and physically abusive towards Harley.
