Birds Of Prey - 10 Reasons To Be Excited

8. The Action Scenes

Due to the super-powered nature of our favourite heroes, most action scenes transition into a CGI-fest of colour and noise that don't always capture the same elegance that the artwork does in the source material.

Fortunately, Birds of Prey is going down the more grounded route, with characters like Huntress and Black Canary being more reliant on their martial arts abilities and masterful use of weaponry than any particular power (Canary's sonic cry aside).

However, if martial arts, crossbows and mallets weren't enough to whet your appetite, Chad Stahelski - director and stunt coordinator of the John Wick films - oversaw the reshooting of some action scenes as a Second Unit Director. Moreover, the creativity of the scenes look to be on another level, even having Harley Quinn pursuing a car on roller skates.

The promise of hefty violence and John Wick level action should be more than enough to put Birds of Prey on top of many of its fellow comic book films, both in the MCU and DCEU alike.
