Birds Of Prey: Every Character In The Movie Ranked Worst To Best

3. Cassandra Cain

Cassandra Cain should have been terrible in this movie. Her role in the plot is to essentially act as a human MacGuffin, after swallowing the diamond Black Mask is looking for, and precocious young sidekicks are notoriously terrible in most Hollywood blockbusters. Cass could have ended up a plot device, or even worse, an empty receptacle for deadpan, cringeworthy one-liners.

Fortunately, none of those fears were realised, and Cain is constantly charming throughout. Her bond with Harley Quinn is what ultimately softens the criminal, and this odd sisterly relationship puts a unique spin on the regular superhero-sidekick dynamic. The two robbing supermarkets, chilling out watching Looney Tunes cartoons and discussing the effectiveness of different laxatives offers some of the movie's biggest highlights, as Yan knows that it's these unique and believable bonds that makes the story so affecting.

Harley is absolutely going to get another film, whether it's a Birds of Prey sequel or otherwise, and if it's just her, Cass and Bruce out on adventures together, I'm all for it.
