The success of Deadpool proved that there is a vast adult fan base for superhero films. Though we shouldn't expect the film to be funny in the same ways as the Meta Marvel Anti-Hero.

The R rating will most likely be for language, violence, strong subject matter, and possibly nudity. When it comes to Harley Quinn, none of that should come as a surprise. It has been announced that the plot is based around the kidnapping of a young girl by one of Gotham's scariest crime lords.

This heavy content will then be wrapped up in an upbeat, colorful tone; much like Harley Quinn herself.
