Black Adam has been in the works for what feels like forever, but the pieces are finally falling into place, and the movie currently has a release date of December 22, 2021. During DC FanDome last month, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was on hand to pull back the curtain on the DC Comics adaptation, and it's clear this character will be a game-changer for the DC Extended Universe.

There's a lot of talk surrounding the "hierarchy of power" in this shared world changing with the addition of Black Adam, and given what a box office draw Johnson is, he will almost certainly make his presence felt across multiple franchises for years to come. While plenty of details were revealed at DC FanDome, there have since been even more big reveals about what's to come for Black Adam in the DCEU.

Here, you'll find an in-depth breakdown of everything you need to know about Black Adam, including plans for the Justice Society of America, a possible clash with Superman somewhere down the line, the current production schedule (which has changed somewhat due to current world events), and more.

Whether Black Adam really will shake things up as much as Johnson claims remains to be seen, but the signs are all pointing to Black Adam's arrival being one of the DCEU's craziest, boldest movies to date...

10. Black Adam Is TRULY Badass

Make no mistake about it, Black Adam is not a character to be trifled with. During DC FanDome, Johnson confirmed that the character will be an anti-hero, but dropped some hints about the magically charged character not holding back like a traditional superhero might.

"This idea that you can take all of Black Adam's powers and he does not practice restraint...that makes for a really powerful combination," Johnson said. "One that is explosive, dangerous, and really likeable in my opinion." He would go on to point out that, "He is a ruthless keeper of justice, the judge, the jury, and the executioner. He will always do everything he can to protect his people, and more so his family."

The actor later confirmed that Black Adam is one of the "most powerful" characters in the entire DC Extended Universe, and seemed to indicate that the rest of this world's heroes will be forced to bow before the might of this anti-hero. "Flash. Aquaman. Wonder Woman. Batman and Superman...things will never be the same. Because the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change."
