Black Adam: 20 WTF Moments

8. Plot Twist: Adam Had A Son

Black Adam Dwayne Johnson
Warner Bros.

Though the trailers for Black Adam pointlessly spoiled this big reveal, if you saw the movie without paying much attention to the marketing - as this viewer did - then the twist probably caught you off-guard.

We spend the first two thirds of the movie believing that the young slave boy we see in flashbacks in Kahndaq circa 2600 BC is in fact Adam himself, but it's then revealed that this was in fact his son, Hurut.

It was Hurut who was imbued with the power of Shazam and became Kahndaq's heroic champion Teth-Adam, but after his mother was killed by the angry king Anh-Kot, he transferred the powers to his father.

And tragically, just as Adam received the powers, Hurut was fatally shot with arrows by Anh-Kot's assassins. As dumb as this movie often is, that was a pretty decent rug-pull - albeit only if you didn't pay the trailers much mind, sadly.
