Following on from the last point, the film will take the morals from 'The Lion King' and present them in a way which directly empowers and inspires members of the Black community all over the world.

According to Disney, the film will be a 'celebratory memoir' on the Black experience, and feature a plethora of guests from around the world to support and strengthen that vision.

The list of stars looking to appear in the film includes supermodel Naomi Campbell, author and Academy Award-winner Lupita Nyong'o, and singer Kelly Rowland.

Given the political climate around the world at the moment, with the Black Lives Matter movement opening the world's eyes and ears to the reality of racial prejudice all across the globe, the film looks to be a much needed artistic expression of love and affection for Black communities.

The exploration of themes such as finding one's inner strength and coming of age, pulled straight from 'The Lion King', will look to invigorate such communities and showcase the beauty and pride of their culture and artistry.
