Black Panther: 30 Easter Eggs & References You Probably Missed

Ahead of the film's release, Black Panther producer Nate Moore described it as "James Bond meets The Godfather":

"I don’t think people are prepared for what this movie is going to be. Not just Black Panther, but the Dora Milaje, and Killmonger, and the entire design of Wakanda – both its traditional African-inspired elements, but also the Vibranium inspired techno-elements."

The 007 elements are clear in the gadgets, but the Godfather link is more pertinent to the story, as Moore told journalists on a pre-release set visit:

"...In talking with Ryan Coogler, the director, one of the ideas he also liked was this sort of Godfather-kind of story. When I say Godfather, it’s the idea that it’s very much a story about family and a story about an organization where new leadership is taking place. And much like the Godfather, you have to fight for things, right? And they’re all vying for power and in this case, it’s power over Wakanda. I think Killmonger sees Wakanda as something that could be used differently than it currently is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and that puts him directly at odds with T’Challa.”
