What We Know So Far

In the comics, Shuri is the youngest daughter of T'Chaka, who went on to become Black Panther in T'Challa's absence, after being trained by her brother. It's slightly unlikely that we'll see her full comic form, as she has been able to transform her body into either a flock of birds as well as turning to stone at will.

On the back of the trailer's release, Ryan Coogler has shared some details about T'Challa's sister, who was seen in the trailer wielding two Panther head blaster weapons. Coogler told EW that Shuri a brilliant scientist as well as a fighter: she's a little like Wakanda's Tony Stark, and concentrates on using Vibranium in new ways. Like her blasters, which form part of an arsenal she will use in the film.

It's hardly likely she'll become another Panther, but it's good to see she will be strong in her own right.
