Black Panther Review: 10 Best Moments

8. M'Baku Trolls Everyone

One of the movie's most surprising elements is how it handles M'Baku, the leader of Wakanda's mountain tribe the Jabari, who in the marketing seemed to be playing one of the film's secondary antagonists.

As it turns out, M'Baku is simply a man who doesn't suffer fools lightly. Following T'Challa's defeat at the hands of Killmonger, Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o) visit M'Baku and ask for help.

Typically, M'Baku doesn't take kindly to Ross' presence there, hilariously threatening to feed him to his children, before adding that, in fact, his kids are vegetarians. Ultimately, though, he does help them, saving T'Challa's life and helping restore his health.

When T'Challa and his team then inquire about getting help from M'Baku's army, he sarcastically fires back, "I bet you could use an army", before sending them on their way.

Of course, M'Baku's apparently good nature wins out in the end and he provides an assist with his army at the eleventh hour, making him a character both bada** and unexpectedly likeable. Thankfully, fans won't have to wait long to see him again, as he's already confirmed for Avengers: Infinity War. Bravo.
