Black Panther Trailer Reactions: 7 Ups & 2 Downs

1. The Weird Slanted Shots

Obviously, we should all trust Ryan Coogler in making Black Panther, because he's a very gifted film-maker who has so far made two of the best human story movies in recent memory. Neither Frtuivale Station nor Creed were particularly over-stylised, and both focused chiefly on the plights of the central heroes to their credit without artifice.

Obviously, this is an entirely different venture for him, but it's a little jarring to see odd slanty shots used for no reason in the trailer that seem to suggest there may be some more visual trickery going on than is strictly necessary. Let's hope it's kept to the minimum in the actual finished product.

Then again, if the only things we can possibly grumble about are a sound effect and a camera that appears to have fallen over, it's obviously been a great trailer for the most part.
