Black Panther Trailer Reactions: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

Marvel has had a bit of a problem with secondary villains, choosing, annoyingly to kill off or defeat the likes of Crossbones, Batroc and Baron Von Strucker in the opening action sequences, when at least the first and last of those deserved a hell of a lot better.

It's partly a problem based on different directors taking over stories with threads that need to be tied up before they can get on with telling the story they want to tell (as with Von Strucker), and partly because Marvel likes to start with a bang. No matter what the cost to iconic characters.

With Ulysses Klaue being established in Age Of Ultron, there was an underlying feeling that the same might be about to happen to him, particularly with so many other villains involved in Black Panther, but it SEEMS to be the case that he's not just going to be dropped in for an opening set-piece and then quickly moved on.

And that's a very good thing, because Andy Serkis looks like he's having the kind of fun with the character that always leads to enjoyable performances.
