Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

2. Ludwig Göransson's Fantastic Musical Score

Composer Ludwig Göransson won a well-earned Best Original Score for his work on the original Black Panther, and while he might struggle to repeat such an accolade this time, it won't be for lack of trying because he provides another stellar soundscape for the sequel.

What's immediately striking about Wakanda Forever's score is just how diverse it is, utilising distinct instruments to score the Wakandan and Talokanil tribes respectively.

Göransson particularly outdoes himself when it comes to the Talokanil's skin-crawlingly creepy chant which they use to hypnotise their enemies several times throughout the film.

All in all the score boasts all the operatic bombast you'd expect from an MCU movie yet also feels appropriately culturally distinct, ensuring it doesn't blend into the more workmanlike bevy of scores in recent MCU films.
