Phase 4 of the MCU has certainly been a bit of a bumpy ride for fans, with many feeling that the franchise has lost a little of the consistent magic that made it such a hit in the first place.

But Wakanda Forever thankfully feels like a bit of a return to form, its flaws accepted, in both functioning as a dramatically striking piece of character-driven drama and a superhero epic that looks forward to the future direction of the IP.

While Phase 4's ending isn't particularly momentous given that we're only now starting to build towards the two-part Avengers climax in 2025 and 2026, Wakanda Forever nevertheless feels like a palate cleanser, both for those exhausted by underwhelming recent MCU films and those nervous for how Black Panther will continue without Chadwick Boseman.
