Black Widow: 12 Huge Rumours That Would Change Everything

6. Melina Becomes Iron Maiden

As well as Natasha and Yelena, Rachel Weisz's Melina was also a subject of the Black Widow programme way back when. While this would make her a strong option to take the mantle over after the events of Endgame like Yelena, there may well be other plans for her.

In the comics, Melina Vostokoff, known as Iron Maiden, was forced to live in Natasha's shadow in Russia, as every one of her achievements paled in comparison to the legend of the Black Widow. After being hired to kill Romanoff, Iron Maiden gave her target a run for her money before eventually being defeated.

Similarly to Iron Man, the character wears a metal suit, allowing her powers she wouldn't normally have, and the kind of protection that would render her almost unstoppable. Should Melina be given the time and opportunity to develop properly, there is every chance Iron Maiden could become a key figure in Phase four, five, and beyond. As either a villain, or a hero. Or both.

Thanks to her affiliation with the team in the comics, Iron Maiden would be a perfect candidate to join General Ross in the Thunderbolts if Marvel do in fact choose to pull the trigger on the group any time soon.
