Black Widow: 21 WTF Moments

Moments after Nat and Yelena rescue Alexei from prison, we're treated to what's sure to be one of the film's most controversial and discussed scenes.

In the chopper as they fly away from the prison, Alexei cracks a joke about Yelena being on her period, but she replies that she doesn't get periods because she was given a hysterectomy in the Red Room.

Surprisingly for a supposedly family-friendly Marvel movie, Yelena spares few details as she explains that both her uterus and ovaries were removed by surgeons, much to Alexei's disgust.

Though such a deep and dark conversation doesn't really fit the movie's tone all that well, it's still satisfying to hear this aspect of the Black Widows' past brought back to the forefront after being introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron and basically ignored ever since.
