Black Widow Movie: 10 Comic Book Storylines Marvel Must Adapt
7. Web Of Intrigue
Marvel Studios could find its answer to Kill Bill on the pages of 1983’s Web of Intrigue, a story arc which finds Agent Romanov lured to Russia as part of a needlessly complicated plot to assassinate Nick Fury.
Much of the series has Black Widow slaying her way through a crack team of super assassins, picking them off in one over-the-top battle after another, like a succession of video game bosses.
The diabolical scheme involves killing Natasha and replacing her with an evil double, who will in turn infiltrate SHIELD and take down Fury - sounds like something Doctor Evil might cook up, doesn’t it?
It’s a harebrained plot that hasn’t dated especially well, but with shedloads of gunplay, espionage and a sky-high bodycount there’s plenty of vintage Widow for Marvel Studios to draw from here.
