Black Widow Movie: 10 Things It Must Include
2. Actual Acknowledgement That It's Overdue
Since 2010 and perhaps before, fans have been crying out for a Black Widow film. Those calls always seemed to fall on deaf ears though, with Marvel falling further into hot water when the character was blatantly omitted from merchandise for both Avengers films, despite the fact she's easily one of the most popular heroes out there.
There's no denying Marvel have been particularly poor in that area, and while no one is looking for an apology per se, the studio would be wise to acknowledge that Nat hasn't always had it good these last few years, whether that be in the statement announcing the film for good, or with a nod and/or wink from the character herself in the actual film itself.
It might be difficult to do so in the film, depending on when it's set, but there is a way of addressing the fact the character's been overlooked in an organic and timely manner, particularly when Marvel are now playing catch-up with DC after Wonder Woman.
