4. Give Black Widow A Villain That Matches Up
We all know that Marvel has a villain problem; specifically, that there are very few - Loki aside - worth remembering. But if the MCU makes a Black Widow movie in the espionage/thriller mode, they're going to need more than just a sinister-looking alien with weird makeup.
Natasha deserves an antagonist with shared history and a similar moral ambiguity - the best villains are, after all, reflections of our heroes, and Black Widow's not always exactly heroic.
Since all the best spy movies feature double-crosses and ambiguous allegiances, why not make her enemy an ally? There are plenty of instances in the comics in which Romanoff has been up against her fellow Avengers (and S.H.I.E.L.D.), and the MCU is no stranger to shifting the balance between good and bad.
If they're going to explore the origins of her training program and the Red Room Academy, then she could very well be up against an almost literal mirror image in another Black Widow - and there are plenty to choose from...
