The Voight-Kampff Test is a precursor to the Post-Trauma Baseline Test they use on K to establish whether any pesky human emotions have crept into his programming.

Phrases from the original procedure come to life in Blade Runner 2049 during the scene when Ryan Gosling's Android is about to encounter Deckard in Vegas.

One of the statements subjects must respond to in the original movie mentions a “sandy desert”, which is where Deckard is hiding out. Later in the film, when Rachael is subjected to the test, she's asked to respond to a scenario involving a “a wasp crawling on your arm.”

K, who at this point believes Rachael may be his mother, is seen with a bee crawling up his arm after finding Deckard's hives in the desert, creating an interesting parallel.
