Blomkamp And Copley Re-Teaming For ELYSIUM

After the big commotion that Neill Blomkamp's little 'AGM Heartland' viral caused not two weeks ago comes the very exciting news that the director is starting to shop his next self penned sci-fi venture Elysium around Hollywood and his old friend Sharlto Copley (District 9, The A-team) will be joining him. According to Deadline's story;
"Neill is taking meetings all over town. There is a lot of interest from every studio," and "They have been working out budget and are now meeting with actor reps,"
So which studio will win out? Media Rights Capital, who are funding the project have an existing deal with Universal which I guess puts them in pole position but apparently the race to distribute is 'wide open'. I'll wager we'll be hearing more on the matter very soon. Blomkamp has spoken himself about the project on numerous occasions before as far back as 2009 describing the film as a;
"sci-fi, horror, something around there" and was "pretty sure it's set on another planet" and "way in the future." with "many sociopolitical ideas that interest me" all "wrapped up inside something that is like a Hollywood action film."
Overall Its just nice to know that we will be getting another slice of science fiction from the guy that has already brought us one of the best genre movies of this decade.
