The final negative is also the most off-putting, that just as the movie prepares to gear up for its third-act, a laughably contrived and wildly unnecessary plot twist emerges, one that really strains credibility even for the standards of this genre.
It doesn't help that the twist itself is revealed in fairly theatrical, over-the-top fashion, and though the rest of the movie deals with it surprisingly well, the film as a whole probably didn't need it, given the other possible ways to bring thing to a close.
It sticks out as rather silly compared to what comes both before and after, but if you're already on-board with the film, it won't sink it. Think of it more as a blemish you wish wasn't there.
