Bond 24: 5 Reasons Why Blofeld Must Return

4. Ian Fleming's Blofeld Trilogy: 3 Films for a New James Bond

bond-and-domino-underwater thunderball artwork robert mcginnis The original adaptations of Ian Fleming's books were done extremely well and were extraordinarily unfaithful to the novels. So much so that many of the Bond films have only the character names and titles in common with their litterary predecessors. So what if this potential new James Bond trilogy that began with the end of Skyfall revolved entirely around the build up of Blofeld's return? It could work perfectly. Blofeld originally only appears in three Fleming novels. Referred to as the Blofeld trilogy they are Thunderball, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and You Only Live Twice. Sure part of liking the Bond series is seeing him in new stories facing new foes, but if done well remaking these films with the mindset of pitting a built up Blofeld against 007 in the modern world could be a powerhouse concept.
